Independent music supervisor with 15 years of award-winning work crafting stories through the power of music.
Ed Bailie has supervised film and television productions including director Steve McQueen's celebrated five-film anthology Small Axe, Nicôle Lecky's musical drama Mood (BAFTA Television Craft Award for Original Music: Fiction 2023), iconic Netflix drama series Top Boy, BBC crime drama The Gold, and acclaimed director Terence Davies' period drama Benediction.
Covering the full spectrum of music supervision, Ed's roles span commercial music searches, clearance and licensing, original score coordination, on-set musician casting & direction, soundtrack album deal procurement, and original song production.
Past panellist for SXSW, Variety: Music For Screens, Gold Derby, and Soundtrack Cologne, Ed has judged for the Clio Awards, British Arrows, and Music & Sound Awards among others.
Ed is a BAFTA member and currently sits on the senior board of the UK & European Guild of Music Supervisors (formerly head of the unions committee from 2018-2025).
Collaborating with filmmakers to bring their vision to life, Ed harnesses his deep passion for music with years of music industry expertise to curate, create, and deliver compelling and enduring soundtracks.
